Vanessa Barrientos is a senior at the University of Oregon where she is majoring in public relations and Spanish. Her passions involve improving communication strategies in her community to pave the way for better relationships to equitably represent marginalized identities. This interest was sparked when she got involved in leadership positions for social justice oriented student organizations on campus. She learned the importance of being able to effectively communicate certain messages to the public in order to successfully be represented properly. Vanessa’s career interests include marketing, communications, project management and public relations. She aspires a career in the music industry as public relations specialist to help artists or music labels ethically impact current pop culture. When she is not busy listening to the newest released music, keeping up with social trends, or planning events, she likes to work out and spend time with friends and family.
